Contents: Water Buffalo Patty Quarters (GFF & Free Range)
🌱 Why aren't 100% of our meats GFF & Free Range?
While Grass Fed and Finished & Free Range meats are superior nutritionally and environmentally to grain fed animals, it does come at a cost.
For most of us, feeding solely a GFF + Free Range diet isn't financially realistic and it's important that my shop caters to people and pets of all walks of life.
⚖️ The Differences:
Environmentally speaking, grass fed farming requires less energy and promotes biodiversity using deep rooted grasses to encourage soil nutrition.
Corn farming is heavily reliant on oil-based chemical fertilizers and the corn's short roots depletes the ground of its nutrients.
Grass feeding allows cattle out of the confined and typically filthy feedlots and provides them with their biologically appropriate diet.
The end result is a meat that is more nutritious and less toxic as grass-fed farmers typically raise their cattle using no growth hormones, steroids, or antibiotics.
Scientifically speaking, research shows that grass-fed meat is higher in cancer-fighting conjugated linoleic acid (CLA), desirable fatty acids like omega-3s, and nutrients like vitamin D, magnesium, and potassium.
I always say that if you can afford to swing it, go for it, but if not, that's okay too! We are all doing the very best that we can! 💗
